What a wonderful question! There is so many kinds of love. We all need to either love or be loved, it's just human nature. There is the kind of love which is really an extreme liking such as "I just love chocolate ice cream" or " love horror movies" there is the kind of love like going for a walk thru the park on a crisp autum day and you can smell the autum in the air or the kind of love when you go to the humane society and spot that sad eyed mutt of a puppy and instantly you know it's love. There is the kind of love between best friends where you would do just about anything for them (even give your kidney). There is the love of a parent which is unlike any other usually unconditionally given! There is the love of a partner, husband,wife,lover,etc... This is also one of a kind however not always given unconditionally. Now there are some examples of love and kinds of love but what is it? Words can not do it justice as love is such a FEELING unlike any other. Weather is is recieved or given away love makes your mind, body and soul deeply happy, fufilled, euphoric, complete. Love can also take over, sometimes it actually rules , not always a good thing but it's definately a strong thing. Some people will do just about anything for love , sometimes love is confused with lust or like and it could be easy to do that, however when it is true love somehow you just know. Love is priceless and free so give it away and it may return to you. The love in your heart wasn't put there to stay, love isn't love until you give it away!

Love is a condition or phenomenon of emotional primacy, or absolute value. Love generally includes an emotion of intense attraction to either another person, a place, or thing; and may also include the aspect of caring for or finding identification with those objects, including self-love. Love can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience usually felt by a person for another person. Love is commonly considered impossible to define.

The concept of love, however, is subject to debate. Some deny the existence of love. Others call it a recently invented abstraction, sometimes dating the "invention" to courtly Europe during or after the middle ages (though this is contradicted by the sizable body of ancient love poetry). Others maintain that love really exists, is not an abstraction, but is indefinable; being a quantity which is spiritual, metaphysical, or philosophical in nature. Some psychologists maintain that love is the action of lending one's "boundary" or "self esteem" to another. And others attempt to define love and apply the definition to everyday life.

Love is when you are with someone you can not imagine them not being there with you. Knowing that you can tell this person ANYTHING and they will not judge you. Knowing no matter how bad things get or are they will stand BESIDE you and still not judge you even if your decision got you in this bad place you are at.
Love is when you are not with that person for some reason you feel like something is missing...something is just not right and you feel uncomfortable.
Love is a partnership....you are willing to do what ever it takes and so are they to walk side by side with no one leading or fallowing but together.
Love is when you wake up before they do...and you look at them and think I am sooooo lucky to have you here with me and I don't know what I would do without you here.
That's what love means to me....and that's how I knew I was in love.

who's to say what love really is. We all know it exits but why and how. Love is what defines humans makes us separate. Love is how you know there is a God because evolution could not make a thing so beautiful yet so confusing.Love is how your soul reveals itself in a burst of affection or a shy kiss or the deepest tenderest look that makes you love life and feel like a baby again looking into your mothers arms and knowing you are loved.

Love is knowing that no matter what you may do or say that it can be overcome. Love is that twirling feeling in your gut when you actually think it may be gone. Love is not subject to any definition that we mere mortals could articulate, but when it is there we all know it is.
