I'm a freshman and I take ballet. It takes a lot of strength and it helps durring stretches if you can touch your toes...but its not required, just try your best. Except your body to be pushed to its limit. Expect sore muscles the day after class for a while. Don't worry about being better than everyone else just do your best. I'm really glad your joining! have fun!

You will most certainly excersize a lot - especially stretch. You will have to be fliexible to many of the harder steps. You also will have to work on turning your feet out. This is a process which won't happen overnight either - unless you were born with natural turn-out. (Turn-out is where your feet and knees face the side while your hips face the front.)

Just remember that this will take time and you will have to practice and excersize at home as well. Just by practicing a couple of hours a week with the teacher doesn't mean you will get everything done in that short period of time. You will need to be willing to make time to stretch, practice, and excersize some more!

Ballet is something that, even though you may not be a performer years from now, you will use it in your life. You gain gracefulness, have better posture, and will be better off for having some knowledge and understanding of at least one art. (Plus you will learn a bit of French since all ballet steps are French.)

I hope this helps and hope you have a great time in class!

ill tell you what ballet is becasue ive been doing it since i was 2 and im 15 now.. ballet is very diffuclt becasue you have to have the right technique such as pointed toes, flat back, great posture, poise, straight knees, so on and so fouth.. ballet does keep you fit espically when you get to the higher levels such as elemantary or intermediate foundation.. i am in elemanrty and there is alot of turns.. and devolpes.. which is a very hard things to to.. ballet is alot more than people thiink like its just not a tutu and shoes and you go out on your toes.. there is alot more... ballet is ggreat i love it..! but i would suggest taking a ballet course or introducory before trying it at a studio.. becasue it will be a good intro to the hard steps and new things you will learn.. a typical ballet class for me is a warm up at the bar which is piles toundues gissades and normally grand battement and devolpes then you move in to the center and do center practice which involes jumps (allegro) blancing excerises por de bra kicks and more devolpes and lotsa turns.. then you will do steps across the room to help you.. then normally there is a study, combo or a little dance that we will do and preform in small groups.. ballet is painful and alotta hard work.. go for it! try it see if all you do is dance around on our little tippy toes.. were actually dancing on blisters torn muscles inguries and pain.

i hoped this help you a bit..

You will stretch alot, expect a lot of things you might see or do that you probably won't be comfortable with, for example, the more experienced girls and a partner may proform a fish. That's were you do an arabesque and your partner puts his arm around your waist and under your leg and picks you up and tips you over. You may think " I would be uncomfortable if I had to do that." Also expect to come back sore. Sometimes your teacher may say something like "Anchacar, Anchacyr"( I don't know if I spelled them right!) Your probably be like "what" well ballet steps are french.

I doubt that while you're actually not in a pre-professional ballet software now which you will ever get right into a ballet organization, and that i advise that interior the nicest way a threat. you're able to desire to look at the huge image. there are maximum of females (and boys) who've given up each little thing just to coach a minimum of 15 or so hours a week. And in case you quite opt for to get right into a organization? far greater hours than that.. possibly greater suitable than 40 hours. those youngsters spend the final public of their time at their ballet studio or maybe residency software, and the possibilities are high low even for them. There in simple terms are not adequate spots in ballet agencies and you're able to desire to bypass interior the direction of the finished technique top once you graduate severe college: get familiar right into a trainee software or a 2d organization, then once you're fortunate: to the corps de ballet, then once you're a thoroughly super dancer, possibly soloist, and then nevertheless tremendously uncertain, to central. yet regrettably, the probabilities of that are low even for those women who dance 40 hours a week, to not point out that your profession must be over with a single harm. it quite is in simple terms not functional to assert that while you're actually not doing the bright guidance NOW and characteristic been for quite a few years which you will ever become a professional ballet dancer, even nevertheless i could quite opt for to assert which you and that i will get right into a organization, and so will the masses of different women dreaming of it. stable luck on your ballet aspirations!
