This is cheating...but my change would be to say something that I didn't say. It's a complicated story, but there was something I really wanted to tell a friend. He was being mislead, and I wanted to tell him the truth but struggled with the decision. The old caught in the middle syndrome. My friend committed suicide.
People always say, "There's nothing you could have done, nothing you could have said would have changed anything." I don't know. I do know that I listen to my heart much more carefully now.

I think "katydid" says it well. There are many things I have said that I wish I had the opportunity to retract. You know, those things you think about at 3 in the morning when you can't sleep. But you can't. All I can do is promise myself not to do it again. And, if possible, apologize to the person I have hurt.
If I could go back in time to change one thing? I suppose that would be something I lied to my wife about. She didn't deserve it. Nor was I a good enough man to tell her the truth. Thanks for bring up some really s****y memories.

"I hate you".. I said this to someone whom I choose not mention but the reason it is a regret is that I know now that hatred is fleeting. It goes away as things can be mended when enough time has gone by.
