Because they'll never cultivate a proper Puritan work ethic if they don't spend the rest of their lives working irrelevant and unfulfilling jobs as they pay off the student loans they took out to cover the cost of Ward Churchill's bibliography.

Because not all professors are bad. As a college student myself, I have experienced more good professors than bad. When I come across the bad ones, I simply drop the class in the very early semester so that there is no record that I took it. College degrees are important because if you want to have a successful career, you need the education. But there are people out there who don't go to college but are still successful, like Bill Gates, famous actors, athletes, etc. But thats just a small percent of our population.
