i mean we all watched the planes hit the towers, we watched the documentries on 9/11 and watched the fire fighters get trapped in buildings, watched the bodies fall from buildings......most recently watch the video of the plane with the Yankee pitcher. He had a 6 yr old daughter and a wife too

Sept.11 was such a freakish thing to happen, so big, like nothing we had seen before. Almost like watching a hollywood movie it was so hard to believe it had happened. At the time for me it was too big to be real. By that I mean there were no faces to the tragedy just numbers. (Until things had settled and stories emerged) It wasn't until much later that it all sunk in.
With Steve Irwin I think it is too personal and still very fresh. He was just one man. A simple bloke that loved his life, his family and his country. It is also still very fresh. I personally do not want to ever see the video. I know what happened, thats enough for me. It is very sad that another wife and daughter have lost their father this week in NY. You cannot compare tragedies. It is painful for anyone who has lost someone.

The family said they didn't want it publicized. Even if the families of the 9/11 victims didn't want it to be shown, it happened on a national basis and affected the whole country. The death of Steve Irwin, though alot of people knew him and he was very well liked, didn't cause anything major to happen.

well, t hose were mass deaths that don't show any specific person dying. The video of the croc hunter would show the details of the death of one person.
If there happened to be film of people's faces and, oy, what happened to the bodies as they made impact, it wouldn't be shown.
However, I would like to see the croc hunter's video. I'm kind of morbid that way.

i want to see it as well. they won't show it because it actually shows someone dying... graphically. the other stuff you mentioned didn't show them getting ripped apart. yes, you saw the crashes but you didn't see a person actually dying. fine line there.

because the media has no copy of the video, and whoever does has the right to do with it what they want. the other videos were public
