I store mine in plastic tubes, that way if there is ever water damage they wont get wet.

I live on a boat and have learned not not to hoard
Meant giving up a load of mementos
So I kept a few from each era or each memory and have stored them in suit cases. I travel 4-5 times a year and move the mementos out and move my holiday gear in. When I am away the mementos have free rein to live on my bed or in my wardrobe and when I come back they get put safely back into the suitcases.
I have an England World Cup shirt from Mexico 1970, Freddie Mercury's autograph on a menu from the Ivor Novello Song Awards when Queen won best award for Bohemian Rhapsody, love letters and my Parachute Regiment stuff.....works fine for me

It depends on the momentos.
Some I have displayed in my living room. These are generally momentos that my husband & I have gathered together.
Some I have displayed on shelving in my bedroom. My husband & I both have a couple of things out that we each treasure individually, but don't feel the need to share with all of our guests. For example, one of the things I have in the bedroom is a set of figurines that my grandmother gave me. I don't particularly like them, looks wise, but they have HUGE sentimental value to me, and every time I see them I smile.
Some I have in boxes in the bottom of the closet. These are things that I will probably only see again when I move. I treasure them enough that I'm not thinking of getting rid of them, but the memories are such that I don't need to see them regularly.

Momentos? Wired to the grill of my Caddy. the crutches and leg cast are nice, the false teeth are good, but the best is the mangled wheel chair from Chicago(it always gets the most comments).
If you meant mementos I have them in or on my bookshelves.

Well, if you want to display them, you can always get curio cabinets (they do make smaller ones) or use shelving. If not and you want to store them, I would go with some place like U-Haul storage...some place that has climate controlled units so that your items do not get ruined in the storage process.

It depends upon how large your mementos are. If they are just a lot of letters, clippings, etc. you can store them on your closet shelf or in an old purse that you seldom use. Or put them in an empty suitcase.

You could buy a really nice chest that also can be used as a coffee table an no one will know you have your prized possessions in there.
