a women can have her baby early now a days it just means the baby Will need to stay in ICU until it's lungs and things are fully developed. My friend had her baby at 32 weeks her daughter was born last year with hole in her heart. however she is a healthy one year old cute as a button baby girl we just celebrated her 1st birthday. I am due Nov 25 and was told at 30weeks if I was to have a pre term baby it would have a 99% chance for survival baby's born at 30-33 weeks are about 4 to 4 1/2 lbs

If she is due in Nov. or DEC. and the baby is born in Oct. (Pre-term) the baby won't look weird. The baby will be a little smaller than normal, but they usually catch up to other children born at full term within about two years. Sometimes they are bigger from the get go.
My second daughter was born full term and she weighed 5 pounds. She's 3 now and still very small for her age. My best friend had a pre-term baby and he is 2 1/2. He's about twice the size of my kid. So just because a baby is born early doesn't mean that they will have problems or anything else wrong with them.

It depends on alot of things like how much the baby weighs. If 4 lbs the baby most likely will have to stay in the nicu for a week or two. But yes will be normal just like other children but a little smaller for a awhile.
Take care

It will look like a normal baby, but much smaller, it can have some health problems and will probably have to stay in the hospital for awhile, I had a friend who delivered her daughter 8 weeks early and she is now a healthy 13 year old.

I think the baby would be fine just a longer stay in the hospital for weight gain. I know women that have had babies between 20 and 25 weeks and they are sick at first cause they are so small but they make it technology is an amazing thing. Good Luck.........

Baby will have a super chance of survival, but will likely have breathing difficulties in the beginning. It will be completely formed physically, just a lot smaller than a baby born at term. I'd say 3lbs is a good estimate.

My sister was born 3 months early and she is healthy, normal, and looks like a regular person should. Don't freak. I think you're just nervous.

More than likely it will be smaller, but "normal".
However my nephew was more than a month early and weighed 10lbs. His Dad is 6ft3 and slim and his mom is just over 5ft. and curvy.
Didn't the Dr. run tests?
