I really don't pay much attention to avatars...The reason it's against the law is because the adult has more control over the situation than the child and a "date" could very well get out of hand. That is why even if the sex is consentual between an adult and a minor it is statutory rape, because the adult is usually a bit more knowledgeable about sex and how to go about getting it than a child would be.

If they're not having sex it's NOT against the law.
And by the way, the law works both ways so what's illegal for an older guy is also illegal for an older woman.

I suggest you do some research ........... You have stated that having sex is OK AS LONG AS THE PARENTS ARE OK WITH IT, AND THAT IT'S ONLY STATUTORY RAPE IS THEY ARENT

Any sex between an adult and a minor, no matter what sex the adult is, IS STATUTORY RAPE.
If the parents of the minor know of it, and allow it then THEY are guilty of AIDING AND ABETTING STATUTORY RAPE.

It's not against the law. The law you are talking about is Statutory Rape. I think it's good because WHY would a twenty year old WANT to date a fourteen year old? I can't think of anything but sex.

Where are the parents, and what is their opinion on this? I know if my (minor) daughter brought home an older boy he would be leaving mighty fast, and not by his own power either.

because once you date them then it usually leads to stuff more serious...like eventually yall will kiss and eventually yall will do other stuff together....its there to protect the younger girls who dont know what there doing

in some cases as long as the parents give thier consent then its okay but if they arent comfortable with them having sex and they do its rape
