Keigel excercises will help alleviate this problem. If your wife does her keigel exercises regularly she should be better within a month. Sometimes, with an epesiotomy or other unusual circumstances, it takes a while to regain strength in the pelvic floor muscles responsible for bladder control. If this situation goes on for longer than a month after your wife has started her excercises then check with your wife's doctor. This is something to bring up when she has her 6 week postpartum visit. Good luck and congratualtions on your new baby.

Yes it is normal to leak a little pee when coughing, laughing, after having a baby hello a watermelon just came out of there it doesn't just go back into shape your wife can do these exercises where ever in the car, watching TV, breastfeeding, they are called kiagle(?) exercise what you do is you squeeze down there squeeze in relax release do for about 5 mins a day and she should be just as tight as before she had the baby.

its possible that she could leak for the rest of her life. My sister and I have both had babies and its just a problem that comes with motherhood. She basically has two options. She needs to start doing kegels, the exercise where she tightens the muscle you use when you want to 'hold urine in' she should do those as often as she can, at red lights, watching tv whatever, its not something anyone would notice her doing. try to hold it as long as possible and do them often. if that doesnt work, and it takes time, then her other option would be surgery. they would just need to tighten things up a bit down there buts it expensive and most insurance wont cover it. it is a fairly quick and easy procedure however I would start with the kegel muscle exercise and in the mean time wear panty liners.

could be a kidney stone or a bladder an infection. the two could justify a pass to to the emergency room. A kidney stone could earn you some meds, a Renal Cat test and probable a pass to with a urologist. A bladder an infection earns you some antibiotics. the two are neither to postpone therapy on.

I am a week post partum and I was just wondering the same thing- how long. :) I didn't even know if it was normal, but I looked it up and it says up to five months post partum is acceptable and it reccomends doing pelvic floor exercises. Also to contact your dr. if it continues more than 5 mos.

YES unfortunately it is normal.
1.tell her to do Kegel excersizes and it helps and also
SOmetimes she may actually need to pee but as her body is returning to pre-pregnancy stage sometimes she may not be able to tell .
2. tell her to go to the bathroom ocassionallyeven is she dont think she needs to jsut to help relieve the issue until it gets back to normal.
my baby is 4 months old and it happens very seldomly to me now

its very normal...i had it for months...most women experience this during pregnancy and afterwards...nothing to worry about unless there is a steady flow coming out and she canno control it...she just had a baby and her body has to completely readjust
