In Missouri in order to teach Kindergarten you have to have a degree (4 yr) in early childhood education plus have passed the Praxis for early childhood education. That will only allow you to teach UP TO GRADE K!! In order to teach 1-6 you have to have an elementary degree ( 4yr BS or BA) and have passed the elementary Praxis. No one should teach without a degree. You may have the knowledge a Kindergartner needs bu there is a lot more to it then that like your classroom and behavior management, exceptional child, child psych, analysis and correction of disabilities, and so on and so on. However, in some cases when teachers are desperately needed, you may teach on a contigency license if you have an associates degree. This is contigent upon gaining a bachelor's degree within 5 years. Good luck

you need a degree in Education. If you are in the US, most education programs (4 year program) are now a 5 year program in which the include a master's degree. Also, to gradute you need to pass the praxis exam.

Most schools would like their teachers to have a master's degree in Education but in areas where the demand for teacher's is very high, they will take a person with a bachelor's degree in any major giving priority to those in Educaton followed by Arts & Sciences majors.

You'll need a bachelor of arts in education. Most state universities have made it a five year program and you'll also have to pass a state licensure test after participating in an internship program. If you have time, it would be best to go ahead and get your master's degree too. It will give you bargaining power for salary and the ability to go into administration later if you want.

It varies from state to state. In Oklahoma, you need an Early Childhood Education degree + your teaching certificate.
