salt is an object, its not a change.

Salt is written in its chemical symbol as NaCl. "Na" means sodium and "Cl" stands for Chloride. Both elements are, when in their own form dangerous and even poisonous. But you will not get any of their chemical properties in salt because they have undergone chemical change. this means that not only thier physical condition have changed but all of their properties as well. this udually occurs with the aid of a catalyst.
salt may change its physical form but not always ins chemical properties. this is what you call its physical change. like when salt is diluted in water or when salt water is evaporated to reveal salt.

Well, I know that it can be physical. Because if you dissolve in water and then let the water dry, it might be crystallized. That is a physical change. Now if you break down salt from soduim chloride to sodium and chlorine I guess that would be a chemical change.

Salt is a chemical compound. Only when it reacts with other substances can a physical or chemical change happen.

chemical b/c it's the result of a bunch of chemicals combining. a physical change would be like ripping paper - you start with a whole paper, and you end up with ripped pieces of paper. salt is just a bunch of chemicals coming together to form a compound.

Salt is not a change at all?

If you are talking about the formation of salt from 2 substances, then that is chemical.

If you are talking about evaporating salt water to get salt, that is a physical change.

What is happening to the salt...
Do you mean the salt disolving in water, because that would be a physical change, because the water can be evaporated to leave the salt again.

Hope I helped

Salt what? water? when you dissolve salt in water it dissociates into sodium ions and chlorine ions, so the change is chemical, but reversible (evaporate the water).
