as far as i know a father never loses his parental right but he can sign his rights away

There is no time limit. Only way he can lose parental rights to his child is by signing over his rights.

Once the child has grown into adulthood, he/she can choose not to accept the absentee father as a parent.
Otherwise an absentee parent doesn't lose parental right any more than they lose parental OBLIGATIONS.

no one shouldd lose parental rights to a child, as long as they are the parents, until the child reach the legal age and declare their independence, still morally the parent always and should have a parental rights to a child!

He doesnt. If his name is on the BC, he remains the father. Now, if mom remarries and stepdad wants to adopt the kids, I believe that a search for real dad has to be made in order to get his permission and release himself as father. But a genuine effort has to be made. You cant just say "I called him and I got no answer, so...."

a father can lose parental rights i believe after 5-7 years, ... ask a lawyer... he can give you more information on stuff like this hun,,, how old is the baby now?

they have to sign over there parental rights. my boyfriend did that. basically letting someone adopt the child.
