of our country and why do they get to vote on their own exhorbitant salery increases. would it not be better to tie thier income increases to the cpi and make this the only way for them to receive an increase. for our current leader to make the statement of you have to pay large sums of money to attract the right sort of people to the job just doesnt cut it with me, any one has the right to take a stand with a political party go through the process and then nominate for the position of leader be it state or federal. Come on Australia lets take control of our political process and reign in these rampaging corporation puppet's before its to late and our kids lose everything that our fathers have fought for.

agreed, and not just the salary increases but also the ridiculous amounts of super increases they give themselves, the fact that taxi's are paid to sit and wait outside Parliament ALL day in case a Polly wants to go somewhere etc etc and the fact that if little johnnies statement is true that "we need to pay huge sums of money to get the right people for the jobs" why did he create the new trade agreements that have disadvantaged all working Australian's, reduced our incomes, reduced our entitlements, and provided no increase to our super?!

Unfortunately little Johnny has taken way to much advice from Bush recently and Oz is going to end up as rooted and corrupt as the USA!

thankfully the polls are showing that this is almost the end to the Liberal power in Oz.

Politicians must not be allowed to receive exorbitant salaries because public service is being defeated. They must not be allowed to circumvent the laws in their favor. Australians must stop this practice by looking at their laws on how they could file a case against the greedy politicians.
