I've also used Smooth Hounds http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ to find b&b's in Edinbugh, although only for about 2 or 3 people. I've stayed in the Mayfield Gardens area a few times when I've gone to the Fringe. The b&b's are good and reasonably priced. The area is good and has so many b&b's that if one can't fit all of you in, you will be able to find 2 b&b's next door to each other. Mayfield Gardens area is about a half hour walk from Edinburgh castle.

Sandaig Guest House - 4 Star - Phone 0131 554 7357 or 7371
Will need to share in rooms. Fantastic place.

The town house - 4 Star - Phone 0131 229 1985

Both have websites for you to view, put name and place in search box. You'll need to pay a deposit as both places are small and family run.

If know luck try accommodation in Portobello 10 mins from Edinburgh City Centre without City Centre prices. Local trasport is very cheap and frequant.

Glad to help you theluckyhedgehog (edinburgh)

Try Premier Travel Inn: they have a number of sites in Edinburgh and you will be able to get a rate of roughly £38 if 2 people are sharing. That's for B&B, room only is also available and will be even less.

Check out the Express by Holiday Inn (www.ichotelsgroup.com) - they have great deal if you book in advance and the one in Edinburgh is walking distance from Princes Street!
