Turkey is a nation state, the official language is Turkish
The Kurds, a distinct population group, speaking kurdish dont have a separate noation to call their own, the Kurds straddle SE Turkey, NE Iraq & NE Iran
so some kurds will be turkish, soem Iraqi, some Iranian, many are seeking to found a new state (Kurdistan?). They may well achieve this if Iraq descends further into chaos and eventually splits. I think there have been recent petrochemical deposits found in the Kurd areas so they may be able to afford to run their own state. However I cant see thre Turks or Iranians being happy with the idea of a new nation on their borders whihc could 'steal' land from them.

Over in Turkey it would be black and white, night and day, right from wrong. About the only thing these two people share is Islam, but even there they probably argue.
The Kurd's are a people without borders. Some live in Turkey, some in Iran, many in Iraq. To a lesser degree, they live in many other middle eastern country's.
To some degree, they are like the Palestinians except a much prouder people, a much more courageous people, and a people deserving of their own land.
Perhaps this latest thinking in Iraq is just the ticket the Kurds need, for now, limited autonomy. I believe if they had this, they would abandon other countries for the chance to have their own identity.
Country's like Turkey would probably say good riddance, and perhaps for good reason. These two people have clashed often and ferociously, and so far they have survived each others wrath.
The US would more than likely be a major player in the support of a new home for the Kurds. The US views them as a friend, and the Kurds reciprocate that feeling.

This is a good question. To the outsiders like me there is absolutely no difference and all these tribes like Armenians, kurds and all the Croats and Bosnians killing themselves for perceived differences, I say, I dont see any. The same with the Jews and Palestinians - a scientist checked their DNA and found they are all the same toe rags from the same ancestors. So all those neighbours that fight like the Iraqi sunni and Shias are all brothers so the UN should leave them to fight it out and the winner should wipe out the others and we do business with the winner and the world would soon be peace full. What do you think?

The are a different people with a different language, history, culture, and religion.
It is like asking: what are the differences between the French and the Spanish?
