i am in a brodcat journalism class and i have to do a PSA (public service announcement.) i am assinged to do one on smoke and fire detectors and why to have one. i dont know any ideas and i was hoping you could help me come up with ideas. my deadline is coming really fast and i need to get this done.

Include what the average number a certain house requires. Upstairs/Downstairs, how many include garage could use one.
Best places to hang one, a few feet from the dryer? few feet from the stove, depends how far these two are from each other. 1 at beginning of hall or at top of staircase.
Include how often people forget to replace the batteries and what the consequences are if not replaced.
Do a quick search on consumer digest or consumer report the top 3 recommended name brands.
Advise its best to dble check the system.

one good reason to have a smoke alarm is that a fire can engulf a whole room in less than ten seconds!
