Good. In the long run this strategy will work. Appeasement only gives you short term peace, but allows the enemy to strengthen and grow.

The days when the US had to wait for an attack on its' people or property, is long gone. Where ever dangers lingers, action must be taken to remove it. This is the lesson of Sept 11.

You don't wait for your enemy to give you a slap, before you respond with a punch. The moment you sense a move to attack you is being planned, you got to strike first.

Too many people today want a return to the policies of the past. They want safety and enemies to be defeated, but cannot stomach losses. The enemy never cares about how many they lose, their concern is to continue attacking, hoping to gain new recruits along the way, to replace the ones they lost.

In the short term, there will be hardship and greater amount of casualties, but if you show the enemy that you are prepared to dig in and match 'fire for fire', eventually they will back down. With the greater manpower and technology, they know that you can be attacked but never beaten.

All those who supported them in the short term, will in the long run, realize the futility of fighting and back down.
This has been the case with IRA, ETA, Tamil Tigers and even the PLO, there is no reason why it won't work with Al-Qaeda.

His willingness not to back down unfortunately wasn't tempered by good sense. Like sending people to make Iraq conservative instead of sending experts to rebuild Iraq is probably a large chunk of the reason most Iraqis view attacks on americans as good things. Washington Post reported that political loyalty to Bush was more important than qualifications in deciding who to send to manage rebuilding projects. Because of that many of the people were idiots.

Bush's ideals are good in theory, but he has so bad of execution of plans.

I think that our willingness (most of us anyway) to not back down will be good for the country. When we show that we will let terrorists fly planes into our buildings and let petty dictators have nuclear weapons to threaten us and our allies without reacting to protect ourselves, then we are on the road to oblivion.

I don't believe the United States today can afford to take the stance of not talking to any country.

No offense, but simply put, we just don't have the leg of decency to stand on anymore. Who is going to believe anything the Bush White house is going to say? World leaders are not as backwards as we are led to believe. That's just common sense.

The words "you're either with us or against us" defined us as warlords, not as stewards of our constitution.

Jihad happy Muslims for instance, they are like a Cancer.
If left untreated, it just spreads, until you die.

Good, other countries taking advantage of our diplomacy, Irans taking of american hostages in the past, had to stop somewhere and when we.ve become so complacent that they feel they could use us for target practice is as good as time as any to flex our muscles.
