86 should i fix it up and raise it or leave everything original

if you want a good economical ride, leave it stock & maintain it well. if you want to go rock climbin, the skys the limit. the web is full of mods. ive had an 87 for 12 years & its never failed me

Those have the potential to be badass rock-climbers. Just need a few engine tweeks for more torque. leave the gearbox alone it already has a good ratio. I would do more suspention work on it than anything else.

those things were known to tip over in stock form, why would you want to raise it anymore than it already is. I would try to lower the center of gravity or leave it alone.
