I met someone online more than 2 years ago and we fell in love. She lives thousands of miles away (In the US) and it's going to take a very long time before we can meet. I recently have been having serious doubts that she's married because of things she said and maybe because we still haven't met yet. I asked her but she keeps saying I'm being paranoid. How can I find the truth?

Getting a home phone number is always a good start. If she's married, there will be all kinds of good reasons why she won't give you her number (husbands hate it when boyfriends call the house). Also, with the phone number, you can use the internet to do a reverse lookup; verify her name against the phone records. If the phone company lists the number as belonging to Tom, or Dick, or Harry... well, that would require some explaining. If it's a work number... then she lied, didn't she? Zabasearch can also give you all kinds of clues.

That's a start.

If youve had a long distance thing going and she has made no indication or moves to physically meet, that would be a signal that something is not on the up and up.

What difference does it make if she's single, married or in-between, if you have not met her, and are not going to? Why don't you get out and meet a *real* person.

if you can go two years without meeting her and you say it will be much longer, then you could get by just fine without her. so i don't get how you can be in love! i think it's the idea of having someone. you should self evaluate and realize you deserve better. good luck! oh you are probably right with your instincts. move on you deserve more.

For a sake of argument assume she is lying until she can prove differently

If you think you are being deceived, you probably are. And even if you aren't, do you want to pursue a woman you don't trust?
