its not that bad. youll just have to get used to it. You should be thankful you dont wake up in the middle of your sleep and realize that you cant move a muscle except that of your eyes. then see someone or something move into your room then come close to you and sit on yor petrified body while choking you.... and you cant do anything but watch it kill you. then the next day, the doctors say you died of a heart attack.....actually, that dreaming of falling then waking up jumping is like a practice to get off or escape the Dream Choker. Sweet dreams!!!!

I dream of falling alot. I always heard that if you dream of falling and jumping and see yourself actually hit the ground, that you would die. Something about having a heart attack or something. I've never seen myself hit but I have tried to move my legs fast as in running to slow the falling. Weird what we dream isn't it?

The reason people have these dreams is that when we sleep, the part of the brain that controls our sense of position (the cerebellum), does not function as well, causing us to sometimes experience strange sensations such as that of falling. If you "hit the ground" you will not die, it would just be a sign that your cerebellum is calming down and not sending out those signals anymore.

i have dreams all the time about falling and i hit the ground. of course i fell 25 feet in real life and am still around.
next time you have a falling dream take control and fly around some. shoot some space monkeys with your laser blaster, and ask Abe Lincoln for hair care advice.

That happens when your brain activities are over your control. Your subconscious mind may be in a moving state. The servous one will be sleep walking. In your case, it is just slightly adnormal.
This happens due to stress. You need to relax in day time, perhaps exercise and milk will help

It feels so bad when that happens also when you fell like your gonna trip and wake up trying to balance yourself. I laugh at it most of the time. I dont know how to explain why it happens but its interesting.

Yeah, I've only had it once though and it scared that crap out of me. Luckily, I woke up before I hit the ground :)
