I'm doing a paper for school on "Teaching of Reading"
Above is one of my questions, I would just like to know everyone’s opinion. Its kind of like a questionnaire that I'd like to use as part of my essay.

Depends on what grade your teaching, but yeah, learning to read is very important. That, writing, and basic math are the most important things in 1st grade. You learn stuff like multiplication, division and cursive in second grade, etc. I learned to read in kindergarden, so I got to reading the harry potter books in first grade. Most little kids should be able to do that. At least in my school.
