An expression, usually used by university students, referring to the fact that you work (studying, writing essays, etc.) all night after going to classes all day, especially if you attend classes all the next day too.

As far as I know, it means staying up all night to study for an exam:
"I pulled an all-nighter, because I had a Final in the morning..."

When you stay up all night to the crack of dawn and don't get any sleep until after sunrise. Usually aided by stimulants such as caffeine or Ritalin.

the only term allnighter i know of is when you stay up all night studying or partying, etc. You stay up 'all night'
