No it's not 1, it's 4. Think about it; you have 2 thing and you devide each one in 2 pieces, you get 4

Thats an interesting "pun." Of course he/she knows the rules of division, but he/she was just saying if you look at just the words you could get something different. Don't take it so seriously man.

No its not. Your an idiot.
What you faill to understand is not only how to spell the word divide, but also what the definition of divide is.

If you look at it as a mathematical equation.
2/2 =1
What this is saying is that 2 is divisible by 2 only 1 time.
Or think of it as, how many 2's are there in 2. Again only 1.

What you are assuming is that each person would cut the number 2 in half, which depending on your logic would turn each 2 into 4, or each 2 into 1. Nobody ever thinks this way since everyone knows the rules of division.

What this is saying is that 2 is divisible by 2 only 1 time.

The answer is actually zero, at least if you're talking about cake, anyway.

Two pieces of cake divided between two people ends up with zero cake left!
