I work at a hotel and I noticed that my boss does not pay the housekeepers over time. I think my boss does this becaues the housekeepers are illegal. I see that my boss is taking full advantage of them. I want to put a stop to it. I want those housekeepers paid with over time. I saw one of the housekeepers checks, and for two weeks the housekeeper worked 94 hours regular pay no over time. I want to put a stop to this, but how?

Check with your state labor board. Ours in California just used to care about wage violations, they didn't call the INS. ( but I don't know for sure about now ) You can always call for information. Also a large chain motel that is across state lines, is probably subject to federal rules.
When I lived in Arizona tho, they were so worker hostile, they could do anything to the workers and Az didn't care.

There's a few things you can do. Either way you turn though, it's not going to come out to your liking, or the liking of the housekeepers. A regulatory agency can enforce compensation requirements, but in the process it will probably discover that the housekeepers are illegal, hence enter INS. The employer can then be the subject of action for hiring them in the first place, and in the end you'll have new housekeepers to be concerned about, but not the same faces your see today.

Labor laws are still the best way to fight him.
Your housekeepers need to get together, he is bluffing them, and getting away with it. The window of change needs to come, his hotel, could close for good, if he is investigated.
If your housekeepers stuck together on this, and said no when he wants them to work over time, then say lets call the labor board and see how they feel of us working here,
reverse the scare. I do not think he would let them all go.
Just a thought.
