Where does someone find motivation. I have tried every kind of medication and comibination of medication you can think of. I have also tried talk therapy, group therapy and just about everything in between. I have sustained a brain injury in which I have lost a lot of memory. I don't remember my friends, I have forgotten how to cook and how to perform my job. I have also forgotten the one thing I really enjoyed which was gardening. I know longer know the names of flowers or plants or how to care for them. I don't want to be around anyone as I cannot communicate with them as I cannot find the words or know anything about what they are talking about. I have no knowledge of anything. I turn on the TV and do not recognize anyone or anything. I have tried to read but do not comperhend what I am reading. If I could just stay home and do nothing then my life is just fine.

Can you relearn what you've forgotten about gardening, for instance? Head injuries must be incredibly difficult to move forward from, especially as you describe the difficulties you've had; however, there must be support groups for folks going through exactly the same thing. If you haven't checked that out, you should.

You need to acquire something that "needs" you...a pet, a plant, a child in your life; find something or someone to "care" for.

I am motivated by what all I do not "know" yet. I like to learn. I also like to apply what I have learned.

"If He brings you to it...He will bring you thru it."

There is a reason God doesn't want you to remember. Listen to Him and He will show you what He wants you to learn.
