The thing that works most for me is midol, heating pad, hot bath, and sleep. Midol works but usually takes about a half hour to kick in. If you want some minor relief until then use a heating pad or sleep to get your mind off of it. My cramps are killing I moan and roll around on the bed sometimes and cry and even scream!! It is terrible. I know exactly how you feel. I am only 12. I was on vacation on time with my friend and got my period it was terrible!! The cramps were killer but the midol and laying down really helped!! Just relax and take it easy. Alot of people go through it so you are not alone so hang in there!!

a thank you to ease cramps is to place down and positioned a warmth p.c.. or warm water bottle on the area which you sense the main cramping. in case you do not have a warmth p.c.. or warm water bottle you need to use a flannel/facewasher or handtowel, moist it, and stick it interior the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute (finding on how long it takes to get heat.) warmth frequently helps soothe the discomfort of cramping. you need to use wide-unfold painkillers yet there are particular painkillers designed to objective era discomfort rather. those are in any respect chemists and that they do no longer require a prescription. conserving lively additionally helps. rather of sitting around possibly decide for a walk or run - this each and every now and then helps ease the muscle tension. - desire this helps (:

I've heard the trick is to take motrin a couple of days before your period starts. I haven't tried that yet, but will try it next time. The point is it gets in your system and starts to fend off cramps before they start.

I personally take evening primrose oil capsules 2 wks before, and also try to aleviate bad foods like alcohol and sugary or salty junk food. I definitely notice a difference when I do these things.

My aunt and grandma always told me that if i go swimming and then get out of water, that I should change to dry clothes, so that I don't catch a chill. They also told me not to sit on anything cold, like cement of a park bench or what ever. Also they told me not to walk barefoot on a cold floor because that could cause cramps. So I have done this all my life, not just when I am on period. I must say I hardly get cramps. But maybe having a hot bath and using the heating pad and keeping yourself warm in bed and if you go outside. Another example is, if it is cold outside do not wear sandals, or get your feet wet in cold water. Try the suggestions that my aunt and grandmother told me, they work. However, some women are just prone to cramps I think, so if nothing works after 1 - 2 months go to your doctor to get pain medication for this, or what ever suggestion the doctor has for your problem. mermaid199

Void drinking coffee, ice cold water a few days before your period. Or you can take ibuprofen. It works for me. Good luck!

You should go to a Dr. and get vicodin, or darvocet, and Somas for sleeping at night. There could be a condition that causes such bad cramps too, like endometriosis.
