Religion: Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
Therefore, atheism is not a religion.
Much of morality is relative. But I would say evil is cruelty or lack of compassion without justification.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. With out religion there is no sin. To have a sin, you have to sin against some one. A higher being than yourself. It would be like trying to have weight without gravity. Or having wind where there has never been an atmosphere. Crimes would still be there, but you could not base any off sin. And evilness would not exist. It would be like the animals. No moral compass or consciousness. Killing would be just as a lion drags down a springbok, no remorse, no regrets.

Without religion, I think strippers are evil and men who go there are....more so the men than the poor girls. I think murder is evil, taking someones life away...I also think bringing a child into this world is evil if you are just going to be a self centered creep about it....not being a good parent is evil, I raised by two of the worst, a young super model wannabe, look at me all the time and don't call me mom in public to a dad who was always gone hunting or running with his buds. Not fixing your animals, not feeding your animals or caring about their health. treating animals like furniture

Yes, I know what one is, and I think you spelt it right. To me evil would be like unreasoning hatred and desire to hurt and main another person. Racism would be one type of it. Some years back, I heard of some white men out in Texas chaining a poor black man to the back of a pickup and dragging him down the road until he was torn apart. To me, that was horribly EVIL. To me, also, what the Terrorists did on 9/11/2000 was sheer evil. War is evil. Sherman, I think it was, said "War is Hell." The Oahspe bible (1882) says the same thing, but that is getting into religion, so I will hush now.
Oh, yes, the old radio super hero, "The Shadow", used to say, "What evil lurks in the heart of man? The Shadow knows!" Then he would laugh maniacally. Yes, that is where evil lurks alright, not in some mythical Devil.

Every code of conduct has a structure of morality and imorality. An atheist may use the term immoral to describe a certain act or behavior but would not use the word sin. A Buddhist would not use the word sin either because in Buddhist PañcasÄ«la (PÄli code of ethics), karma or action is the essence of the Cause-Effect Theory. A Pagan who believes in sexual energy has a code of conduct that does not define sex as either immoral or sinful.
In monotheistic religions such as the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the code of conduct is determined by God (HaShem/Allah) and immorality is considered to be sin which may be forgiven by repentance.
In this religious context, an act that violates Gods moral code of conduct or the state of having committed such a violation is a sin and iniquity, perversity, depravity and guilt are gradations of sin.
Morality refers to the concept of human ethics which pertains to matters of good and evil —also referred to as "right or wrong", used within three contexts: individual conscience; systems of principles and judgments — sometimes called moral values —shared within a cultural, religious, secular, Humanist, or philosophical community; and codes of behavior or conduct.
Personal morality defines and distinguishes among right and wrong intentions, motivations or actions, as these have been learned, engendered, or otherwise developed within each individual.

I don't think you did spell it wrong and evil to me is the look in the man's eyes before he gives the other guy a California Smile in the movie American History X... that is evil
Evil is what happened to that girl in the movie 8mm and though Nicholas Cage avenges her death I think that his actions were also evil in the movie.
I think that the war on terrorism and our parts in Iraq are evil and are being encoraged by evil power hungry men.
I think that abortion is evil in that people can justify terminating a pregnancy because they don't want the responsibiliy that they got themselves into in the first place.
I think that green bean casseroles are evil becuase they make my tummy wanna turn over.
I think that my x girlfriend did many evil things because she had sex with our substitute teacher when we were in high school and together. Then she made a movie with him and with a bunch of other guys while she was still "with me"
I think that HMO's are evil because they give people false hope.
I think that I have given you lots of things now I would like to hear yours, what is it that you think is evil?

Any act that harms another person is incorrect. Ones use of deception to gain a desire is wrong in my view. Behaviors that intentionally harm our world are not in your best interest.
Now I can not define evil for you. These are only general suggestions that anyone could employ to live without harming others.

Evil is anything that is done to harm another for ones pleasure or gain. And sin is just a way to describe bad acts that hurt not only one's self, but society.

I remember reading one of those quotes years ago, Newsweek I think it was. The quote was "Trick or Treat". The context was what a group of young thugs said as they beat a homeless man to death with hammers. I remember then thinking that evil really does exist -- maybe just in the heart of man -- but it does exist.

Evil is the force behind ones knowingly wrong doing to himself or others. After all your body is God's creation and if you do harm to yourself you are harming God's creation and that is evil.
