For what occasion(s) would you, personally, pay a professional photographer to take photographs?

I hired one to take my babies pictures every three months until they turned one. Now we have family pictures taken every so often. Also you could hire one for anniversaries (25, and 50).

I would pay a professional photographer to take photographs for a family portrait, a model would use one for a portfolio, to have a picture of just my child,a special occasion. There are so many reasons for a professional photographer.

For a yearly family photo, like at Christmastime, or a yearly anniversary photo or something like that. If we were having a significant party (like a 60th birthday), we might also hire a professional to photograph the event.

Bat- or Bar-mitzfa; quinceanera; special birthday party (I know of a very formal birthday party for a locally-famous 100 year old woman -- her family hired a photographer); if you are having family portraits taken.
