Choose make up from a company that does not do animal testing. Mary Kay for one. I am sure there are others.

You sound like me, an animal rights person all the way, but not all makeup companies test on animals. You need to read the back of some bottles of many products and if it says not tested on animals you should still be able to wear makeup. Jane Iredale doesnt test on animals, neither do Bath and Body works and they have great makeup. If you go to the website below, they have a list of all the products that do and do Not test on animals also Avon and Mary Kay and Arbonne do NOT test on animals, so keep up with voicing about animal cruelty and enjoy products that are animal friendly at the same time! ;)

You can still use makeup that is not tested on animals. You can find that in Health Food stores and may other places. It is supposed to have a sign on it that means "cruelty-free". The sign is a bunney in a circle that's crossed out. Or it says something like "not tested on animals". Yes, it limits your choices quite a bit but you still can use makeup.
Yes I've heard of it and I don't understand how pouring my deodorant into bunney's eye is a good test for anything. I'm not a bunney and I don't put my deodorant into my eyes anyway. I look for "cruelty-free" products.

Not all manufacturers do this.
In fact, most manufacturers don't do this anymore, because of the uproar that was raised on this issue 10 - 20 years ago.
And, whoever told you that they're just animals from the neighborhood was wrong. They are lab animals, born and bred for the purpose of doing tests on them (I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse!).
Check the websites of the manufacturers whose products you like to use...they will tell you if they avoid animal cruelty.
While you're out on the web, you might check the website for PETA (People for the Ethical Protection of Animals). They will likely have a list of make-up manufacturers to avoid.

It's true-a lot of make-up companies test on animals. But many companies do not. Mary Kay is one of the companies that does not test on animals. Check websites and labels to find out. And it's wonderful that you have learned this and are informed and caring.

I use Mary Kay because they don't do animal testing. They were the first to not test on animals because it's wrong. Plus, people who wear makeup and do their hair make 75% more than people who don't.

There are some companies that don't test on animals. Besides, as bad as it sounds, I'd rather it be tested on an animal then me. I don't want to put that stuff on and then end up with some sort of gnarlly rash.

It is terrible but not all make up is tested on animals. Research a little and find the "pet friendly" brands.
