my device driver is working properly but ive tryed update driver no joy & i havent got the installation cd disc.. if u can help my problem please do a step by step on info. also i cannot safe things to my cd-r disc i have tryed troubleshooting on the two problems i have but no joy........

try checking the jumper setting on the drive and also the ribbon cable in the back as well as the power cable. sometimes they work loose on their own

First of all check to see if the dvd-rom is being picked up ok.
When you start up the computer can you see it displayed on the startup screen. IOr go to start, control panel, system and device manager then click on cd, dvd rom drives see if it is displeyed in there if it is right click on it and check that it is working ok if you need to update the driver do so. Try using your os disk for loading the driver if not go to the manufacturers site and download the latest driver. or get driver genius and run that
