when you have problems (especially when dealing with their responsibilities) go to their suporvisors with your questions and positive suggestions and/or any solutions that you may have. if that seems too "hostile" find another way to get the right people to notice your efforts. back amongst your lazier peers you will get spited for being a "trouble-maker" or over-acheiver but it sounds like you might be the one who deserves some puckering up to. after learning of your discontent they still refuse to properly reward you, take your efforts and skills elsewhere. as hard it may be after 7 years of considerate dedication, you are your number 1 company, not the institution that you help making lazier and wealthier. good luck!

~~~ohhh how I hear ya on this one,,,,hmm sounds like they should have promoted you instead of bringing in someone that is not familiar with the job,,,All I can suggest is be a team player,,,try to be helpful to your new supervisor and she will come to you for help,,,hopefully she will see that she can depend on you,,,,and when it comes time for yearly reviews,,let your new supervisor know that you want to advance in the company, and because you have become her right hand coworker,,,she may just recomend you for a promotion !! ,,,,
