Everything that you write in the internet will be stored for years to come. Your words are immortal.
Your great great grand children can trace you .

Have you ever thought about this?

I haven't actually but it's a good point! With this in mind I will impart some wise words my Dear Old Grandma once told me about the whole discussion/ opinion sharing part of life which I think you will enjoy and probably need to be immortalised. She always said,
"Opinions are like bum holes, everyone has one but it doesn't mean you want to hear it!"

Yes I have thought about that. And this would be true to some degree. There will be tons of sites that close by then. There will be others that clear out old information. But a few will still remain as is. Also something else to think about those of us that don't use our given name they will not be able to trace, not knowing what our screen name or chosen name would of been.

website change often, webspace is prime "realestate" Most people that host sites pay for this service - the service is charge by how much space they use up. Most site will remove unneed space and theyby reducing their costs. Other will revamp their sites and overhaul it so nothing remains of the old site.

Most free servers are done to advertise - so these spaces have time limits for inactivity and then are deleted. Most of these things will be removed once yahoo want to. As soon as they tire of yahoo answers this space will be used for other things and these words will not exist.

Interesting point.
Imagine what dirt could be pulled up on politicians if this idea were practical. Trace all of the the stupid things they said as teenagers on the 'net', then blow it back at them when they do something stupid as politicians. Maybe that would encourage them to actually do their job!

I am very happy to know this because the psalm said
"Life of great men all remind us we can make our life sublime
and departing leave behind us foot prints on the sands of time"
So my foot prints are going to be there for a long time to come.

The joke's on you. I've been capturing and saving all my questions and answers here for a long time. The Internet can collapse tomorrow and I'll still have all that information for my great-grandchildren, should they actually care to recieve it. ( :
