first you must make the denominators equal

[ 5/ (a+h) ] * a

and

(-5/a) * (a+h)

= 5a / a(a+h) - 5 (a+h)/ a(a+h)
----------------------------------------
h

this equals

5a- 5(a+h)
--------------
a(a+h)
------------------
h

= 5a-5a+5h
-------------------
a(a+h)
---------------
h

=5h
-----------------
a(a+h)
---------------
h

you then multiply only h by 1/h
and multiply:

5h
-----------------
a(a+h)

by 1/h to get rid of h on the bottom

= 5h
------------
a(a+h)h

= 5
----------
a^2+h
