The key is to try to predict what the other person is going to play. There are a number of ways of doing this. One simple way is the 'one-up' idea; after each match, try to imagine out how many steps ahead of his last play your enemy is going to go, then go one farther yourself. This depends greatly on the intelligence of your opponent. Another idea is to play a few more rocks and a few less papers than usual; most RPS noobs tend to play scissors more than anything else.
One very good site on the game can be found here:

If the other person starts beating you regularly he has guessed your strategy. Choose a different one, which is truly random - I often use the decimal expansion of pi to determine my choices (0, 3, 6 for rock, 1, 4, 7 for scissors, 2, 5, 8 for paper, 9 skip), since this is effectively random, so you should win half the time againsta any strategy.

Not really, it is a game of chance. I have a strategy though. Ask your friend or competitor for some practice. Keep a mental note of his or her choices, and use that information to your advantage. Just stay one step ahead of your opponent! Also, so he or she won't catch on, alternate your choices to make them even. For example, in a match of 9 practice rounds, do 3 rock 3 paper and 3 scissors, etc.

well i guess you would have to be really observative because sometimes when u look at someones action you can tell what they are going to do. But then again it might not b the best way of going about it. Also watch the pattern the person comes out with. normally people follow the same pattern of how and when they put out rock sissor or paper

Every person has a 1/3 chance to win rock, paper, sissors, but there is no way for increasing your chances of winning only if you cheat, or your opponet doesn't know what he/she is doing.

You can't increase your chances of winning other than by predicting your opponents choice. This impartiality is the reason the game is so popular in the first place

its totally random, it doesnt matter what you pick just as long as your oppenent cant see what you are about to do. Ie. dont make the shape before its time to show it. Dont try to guess what your opponent is going to make just do it
