My boyfriend has been working off and on trying to finish his basics for 2 yrs now & is having trouble deciding how he should continue his education. He wants to coach but only teach math, yet he doesn't want to teach math because it would be too time consuming during football season. Anyone really know the quickest way out of college and still be a recognized teacher?

Good luck with quick... it's still teaching. He'll need all of his required coursework and electives; practicums; and then student teaching, Then comes the certification test.
It'll come down to where he works. A lot of high schools and middle schools give partial work loads to the coaching staff. Others though, have locked in classes for coaches to make it easier on them (Drivers Ed, Social Studies. and of course, PE!)

Get his math degree, but don't teach. Get the coaching one, and do that. If the coaching fails, be the math teacher.

Capitalize on winter session (one-two week courses) and summer session courses. I got a LOT done in luttle time by taking 4-6 classes over summers. It was hectic, but it shaved about a year off of my schedule.

Your boyfriend is only kidding himself. If he wants to teach but doesn't want it to interrupt his football coaching, he should do his degree in phys ed.
