What are your opinions on affirmative action?? Has it helped you or hindered you at all? Do you think its fair or unfair? I think whoever is the most qualified for the job should get the job, regardless of sex or race but thats just me..... what about you?

Yes, but what if there are all equally qualified people candidates in terms of education and such, who ever is the most "minority" will get the job versus who is the best fit personality/experience wise.

I agree, it is outdated and has proven useless. I think its just an easy way out and just one more excuse....

It has been around for decades and the minorities have not used it to better themselves as a whole in their communities. It's time to end the program and let every man and woman fend for him- or herself based on his/her own education, experience and ability. It is high time that white people are no longer forced to forego jobs that should be rightfully theirs just because they have the "wrong" skin color. Time to do away with it because it obviously didn't work and served no purpose other than to divide this country and further erode race relations. Things are worse now than ever!

Depends on the situation. If a particular race or gender is under represented in any field, then affirmative action is good. However, all regardless of race or gender must meet the same standards or qualifications to be considered for a job, sport, etc.

I dislike affirmative action. Getting a job or being admitted to a college should be dependant on merit and merit alone.

Affimative Action is reverse racism, plain and simple. As for minorities saying they need help to achieve success is this country is a cop-out. If people have the drive and determination, they can achieve anything.

I don't think it serves any useful purpose anymore. It only serves to divide where it purports to unify. Enough is enough.
