If you'd like some mild Indian food, try the ever-popular butter chicken-- it is chicken in a creamy tomato sauce. Ask for it 'mild'.
Rogan josh is also fairly mild; it is a lamb paprika stew.
Tandoori chicken or other meats are also mild. These have no sauce, and are the Indian version of grilled meats (or fish or vegetables).
One more trick to coping with spicy Indian food is to order raita-- it is a mild yogurt sauce that you can use to dip other food into to make it a bit more mild.

The best way to try a variety of Indian dishes is, first of all, go to a restaurant a lot of people recommend. Especially if you're trying something for the first time, try the best. Secondly, you can actually order ANYTHING on the menu and ask the waiter to have the chef make it mild or medium spicy. They'll do a good job on it, and it'll still taste amazing. I'm just like you. Even though I'm Indian, I can't stand to have anything too spicy! So, I have first hand experience in what I'm saying. :)
If you have no idea what to order, ask the waiter for a suggestion; he/she can give you a great suggestion that you're most likely going to enjoy. There are so many delectable choices and I can't just give you one suggestion without feeling bad for not including the other wonderful choices. haha

Saag Paneer, Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, Samosa, Chaat are all great vegetarian dishes.
If you eat meat Chicken Tandoori and Curry Chicken are good also.

well there are some samosas that are not spicy at all. there is rice which isn't also spicy. just go to an indian restaurant and ask them if they have something that is not spicy at all and you can eat it.

Passanda and Korma are both creamy, mild curries. In most restaurants you can choose whether you want lamb/chicken/prawn/vegetable for whichever curry you choose.
