I really hope so. Right now, I'm shocked that the A's are down 2-0. I mean they're pitching is incredible. Barry Zito, Esteban Loiaza, Dan Harren, and Rich Harden (he was injured but WILL pitch in game 4). Also, although their offense isn't amazing they have some players who can hit one out. Frank "Big Hurt" Thomas has been wonderful this season, and I think he should have been comeback player of the year. I also think he will and should place fourth for the AL MVP. Milton Bradley has been excellent against the Tigers, and he hit 3 homers last night, and drove in like 4. Nick Swisher has some pop to add to the lineup too. I think they definitely could be up 2-0 or have it tied if Bobby Crosby and Mark Ellis weren't hurt. You could see the A's miss Ellis, when D'Angelo Jiminez (his replacement) made an error. Also Eric Chavez made like 3 errors and 1 play that was close to it. He's won so many Gold Gloves, I'm so surprised in his fielding.
The Tigers will make it very hard though, with Justin Verlander (he pitched last night), Kenny Rogers, and Jeremy Bonderman. Also Todd Jones isn't a bad closer. Brandon Inge and Curtis Granderson are two players you would not expect to lead the Tigers to the World Series, but they've been better against the A's than Ivan Rodriguez has! Also, Detroit has the next 3 at home.
So, it could happen, but both teams look good if you go through their rosters, but it will be hard with Detroits great pitching.
Hope that helps!

Anything is possible, but history says it's highly unlikely.. No team in 20 years that has lost the first two games at home in the league championship has come back to win.. But winning four out of five against Detroit is not impossible, however, even the weather is going to play against the A's.. game time temps Friday might get into the low 40s, and by the time Zumaya comes out in the 7th, it'll be in the middle 30s.. coupled with a 103 fastball.. and the A's hitters, if they do hit.. it'll hurt..

I think the A's are done...... hate to say it but the Tigers are better all around, and as long as the moron Macha is managing this team they will never get any better......
Who in their right mind would start Loaiza over Haren and Harden.... Haren has had amazing numbers at home and Macha doesn't start him??? Harden (tho hurt most of the year) has the best stuff than anyone on that staff and they still go with Loaiza????
And even when Loaiza showed he didn't have any stuff he still pitched 6.... Macha is an idiot and the A's deserve to get swept....

they could. “in no way understimate the middle of a champion.” yet i'm hoping not. i'm hoping the Rays can win this night and then they are assured 2 photos in St. Pete in the event that they are not getting it finished in game 5. pondering the Sox in basic terms gained 2 video games at Trop all season, which includes playoffs, i admire the Rays opportunities in the event that they win this night.

I would like to see it happen. But you have to consider that the Tigers have a better pitching rotation and a better lineup. Also, no team has ever come back after losing two games home. But the A's can still do it. But The Big Hurt and Eric Chavez have to step up.

I sure wish they would but they are between a rock and a series sweep right now. Game 1--OK, good pitching beats good hitting any day. Game 2--they had their shots and could not cash in.
Only bright spot is get to Bonderman and Rogers early as Zumaya is out.
Let's go Oakland!

Detroit is playing so well right now, and it seems like every move they make is the right one. I have to think they can win it at home.

Well, I think they have a chance. There's still time. 2004 Red sox were able to kick yankee *** that year and they were done 3 games. If the Red SOx can do it than they can too.

No, I do not believe that their pitching is going to be good enough to bring them back.
