happens all the time. it may come back when the 3 month wears off or it may take up to 18 months before your period resumes. depo is unpredictable from one woman to the next. the side effects of depo can last much much longer than the contraception time interval. lack of periods after depo and inability to conceive are extremely common, it should return by 18 months after your last injection at the latest

I was on depo for 4 years without a period! It was fantastic!!! I have been off of the shot since March 2006 and still have not had a period. My doc says that it could sometimes take at least 6 months after quitting the shot to start your period again. Hope this info helps!

I've heard of them not having it throughout the whole time that the shot lasts... isn't it 3 months or something? I'm sure it could take a while after, u gotta wait for it to get out of your system.
btw... I wouldn't use depro provera... I know of 2 people who got pregnant on it... and that's not like the pill where u can just stop taking it... it will stay in your system, and possibly harm your baby. Plus... DUH it didn't work. lol

Yes it is very common for someone not to get their period for quite some time after being on depo.. Exspecially if you were on it for along time. I was on it for 2years and it took me a year or so to get mine back regular

It could take a while. I was off it for a few months then took birth control pills that helped. My friend could not get pregnet for about 2 years after she stoped her shots

It takes awhile for your body to readjust so you might not have it for awhile after. But you should get it back eventually
