I have a healthy spine and was wondering what kinds of things I could do to keep it that way, because a lot of my family members have bad backs.
Also, how can I best avoid getting a bad back?

This might sound funny, but having strong abdominal muscles is a huge part of preventing back pain/problems. If your abs aren't very strong, then you're back is likely to overcompensate, which would cause back strains, etc. There are other factors, too. But, it certainly wouldn't hurt to build strength in your abs!
