Would suggest you learn how to put an imaginary light switch in your mind and use it at any time.. If you are able to reach where you desire to be, that is the time to implant the switch.. you will find you are able to reach that same level with minimal practice, once you activate the switch. The association of ideas and feelings are rather spontaneous, learn to use them. Time only exists at the conscious level.. drop it. That is the intent of meditation anyway.. to drop the conscious level.

The Dalai Lama recommends several ten minute sessions per day, at any time. That's until you become a little more experienced.
Not missing a day is far more important than the time.
Here's agood one to get started
Sit in a comfortable position, with a straight spine, and the eyes either closed, or out of focus.
This is a good one to teach our mind to concentrate, called the twenty-four second meditation. It involves picturing numbers made up of dots as shown on large digital displays. We commence by picturing the digits 24. When we can clearly visualise each dot which makes each of the two digits two and four, then we move to 23, and 22. The concentration on the dots helps to eliminate other thoughts from the mind, and with a little practice over a few days, we are able to move from 24 down through all the digits to 0. If another thought enters our mind during this process, then we must start again. This is why it takes a few days before we are able to succeed Once we can succeed then we are achieving an alpha state of mind, which is relaxed, and free of the linear thought process. This is the state of mind required for deep meditation, which we discuss later.

Different times of the day have different energies; this is cyclical. You will have noticed that early mornings have a different feel than noon for example. Personally, meditating at noon feels awkward. Whereas meditating at dawn or sunset feels a lot better. The benefits I get from meditating at these times are greater than at other times. Doing it daily at the same time (more or less) seems to have a cumulative effect.

We're here to do what we can, when we can. In Utopia, everybody meditates at the same time. On Earth, it's a different game. Any time you connect with Source is the right time. It will not be harder to mediatate at 3pm than 3am. Intention is everything. Does the Universe measure time? Time is an illusion that humans invented to order events. If you're worrying that you won't be able to meditate, you probably won't. Lose the control issues, and simply enjoy your connection to Source.

it is good to try to meditate at the same times because the body is a cyclic creation. It becomes accustomed to routines and patterns in your life and it benefits from those routines. Don't let that stop you from meditating, you will still benefit, you just won't get the full benefit.

It won't bother you if you do it at different times but it will be easier to meditate if you do it at the same time everyday.
