Is anyone else celebrating John Peel Day liek they are on Radio 1?

If so, what did you do?

I rode round Manchester on my bike with some 70s punk blaring out. Then danced like a loon with my daughter with Sparks blaring out.

I started my new job and missed everything. I wish I had got a chance to listen to some of my favourite bands to honour my favourite DJ of all time.
I am pleased that you decided to dance like a loon - I am a professional loon (figuratively as my new job is lifting stuff) and I dance madly at every opportunity.
Before I go to bed I will listen to a few songs on my pc to honour Mr Peel.
I think there should be a national music day which should be a bank holiday! That would be so cool - we could make it a great thing as every faith could join in unlike religious festivals! If there was such a day we could call that Peel Music Day in honour of John Peel and I could have the day off work to listen (YAY!).

I heard them saying on Radio 2 that 23 countries were celebrating Peel Day.

I don't normally listen to Radio 2, but I was driving and was getting annoyed with loosing the signal on local radio stations - Steve Wright in the Afternoon is quite good - I might be tuning in again soon.

I wouldn't say I celebrated it, because I feel his death was a tragic loss for broadcasting, but every track I heard on the radio today I assessed in my head as to whether he would have approved of!

no not really, nobody gave 2 shiney ones about him until he popped his clogs. just the same as jo strummer when he passed away u couldnt turn on the radio for repeated clash tracks, so there hope that was some help to you.
