Hmmm.. well somedays I do and somedays I don't ... meaning, there are days when I revel in my childrens joys in a kid like manner, and I see something through them that reminds me how it feels to be young.

But I think I felt like an adult when I was young, my house was very hectic, and when you're the older sister, you take on loads of responsibilities for the younger ones at an early age.

I felt grown up when I started working outside of my home, which was younger than 14. to feel responsible for a postive outcome while earning money was very sobering for a preteen and teenagers.

And actually, thats also coincidentally the times when the kids in my neighborhood thought you "looked older" if you smoked.. and you were an adult if you could drink alcohol responsibly.

My boyfriend got out of high school and got a job. He rented an apartment and asked me to marry him. I was 16 he was 19.
We started our lives together and paid our own bills and our parents knew we were grownups. When my two children started school I went back to school. Completed my education.
I was sure glad because shortly after that he got sick and wasn't able to work and I was able to keep us going. I feel I would have done things differently. I would have got an education first.
Before having a family but it worked out for us. These girls need to give themselves some time to get an education and be married before starting a family. We didn't have the pill.
Now I tell my grand daughter, get an education first. Support yourself. Know what you want. To many marriages break up.

24, when I bought my first car. It felt completely surreal to sign the sales contract. I mean, I wouldn't have given me that kind of credit at 24. I didn't have a ton of debt and I pay my bills, but I'd also never financed anything more expensive than an iPod. I still cannot imagine what they were thinking.

11. I was taking care of myself, and 3 of my little cousins. I was cooking, cleaning, taking care of the house-doing pretty much everything except work and pay bills.
