You can write letters and send packages. He can phone you when he has free time. That could be a couple of weeks.

There seems to be poor communication between you and your husband. Does he plan on moving you with him to where he is stationed.

My ex joined the air force after we were married , we both agreed it was a good career move. We live in the mid west for 4 years.

best wishes

My father was in the Army and my husband is in the Navy. My husband had to leave to go to basic then schooling as was gone for almost a year. You husband won't be gone that long and frankly, if he didn't tell you how long he'll be gone, then you should smack him when he gets back, because he knew ahead of time. Basic is between 6 & 8 weeks long. You can write him all you want but the majority of the time, they only get mail on Sundays. They also get to write back on Sunday. They can get phone calls but only for an emergency and through the Red Cross. I had to go through them to even tell my husband that our son was born. Pretty $***y huh? Then there is the schooling, some times you can go and sometimes you can't. I couldn't. It's tough, but just remember that Air Force basic training is the easiest, so don't worry too much. Nothing will happen to him there that isn't controlled. I've been through it too many times with relatives and friends to no anything different. What I did is keep a running journal everynight and mailed it off once a week to him that way he didn't miss anything. You should try it.

You should get a letter or two from him in the next couple of days. I'm not sure how often the Air Force allows phone calls but he will get to make a few.

After Basic he'll get some leave time to spend with you and the rest of the family then it's off to school. After he gets to his permanent duty station, if it's not Iraq, you'll most likely get to go with him and live in base housing or possibly in housing off base.

ya, u could write to him. it depends on where he is exactly. if he's on the war front, then only he can contact u, but since its only training, he may be allowed to give u a contact number or something. dont worry. be proud to be his wife, who's risking all for his country. and of course dont forget ur prayers, only God can protect us.
