when you hold a job and keep it
when you are able to take care of yourself
when you stop having tantrums
when you control your emotions and don't let your emotions control you
when you are an asset to others and not a liability

For me it was when I joined the USMC in 1968.
You grow up fast or die in a war zone.
This in turn teaches you real fast you are responsible for your own actions.

For me, it was achieving financial independence from my parents. Once you're paying all your own bills, you get to call all the shots.

When you have a job and your paying your own bills.
As long as your parents are paying your bills your not there yet.
