Bengals receiver Chad Johnson and Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor run along the sideline, bumping as they move. Taylor slides into Johnson's path; Johnson shoves him away. Johnson stumbles, as does Taylor. The pass falls beyond both, incomplete.

Was the pass CATCHABLE? Don't say about it was beyond both as the stumble means it may have been able to be caught if they hadn't. The other thing is Johnson SHOVED him by your wording, that could very easily be a penalty for OFFENSIVE pass interference/pushing off. As long as they were bumping then the defensive pass interfernce isn't likely.

If Taylor just slides in front and doesn't make contact it should be flagged as Offensive Pass Interference. But sounds like the umpires would just let it go as the pass fell incomplete with neither player near it.

No penalty if it's beyond their reach. I was very tempted to call both pass interference penalties on them, knowing that they'd cancel each other out but since the ball is deemed uncatchable, then there is no penalty on the play.

Offensive pass interference, the defender has the right to his position.
