I wear a name tag for work and lost the back magnet part to it. SO, I was thinking I could just buy a magnet somewhere and use the back as a replacement back for my nametag...Any ideas as to where to buy one in a national store?

I do live in LA but that shouldn't matter, right?

Often small electric motors will have magnets. Go find a junk yard.

Try Radio Shack. They have all sizes and can be found ANYWHERE in the U.S.
