I think he does.

I have read his book 'My Name is Red' much before all this controversies (in 2001 I picked up the book because I always look for books written by non English speaking writers and the story line interested me - plus I am always intrigued by Turkey's history)

I loved the book. And you have got to agree - it was engrossing. Unfortunately that is his only book I have read so far - I have Snow but have yet to read it ........

No..As a Turk, I can't say a novelist who is a enemy of my country deserves the Nobel Prize..Okay, he says his own ideas, his different ideas with freedom it's good but..why he calls his country a killer?I think it's for money..

As a reader, i are not getting any literary excitement from his works. definitely I in basic terms examine in basic terms one among his books and swore to not examine the different. It became "Benim Ad?m K?rm?z?". It had a pleasing plot yet his language sucked huge time. My theory hasn't replaced. before, i attempted to examine his "Yeni Hayat" whether it grew to alter into the 1st e book I left aside devoid of ending it. He can win the Nobel Prize yet he isn't my popular author.

I don't like his style. I only read My Name is Red. The plot was awesome but the way he told the story was so boring. I finished the book just out of curiosity. He's not a great author but he sure does know how to be famous.

I lived in Istanbul for several years and so was prejudiced in his favour when I tried to read one of his books but it was as if the pages were made of LEAD. I never finished. In my opinion he's got some talent, but magic realism is a vicious style.

yes he deserves it for his works,no he doesnt deserves it ,if this is a political decision due to his remarks against his countrys past.which i believe he made those coments to clear the road for him to win the prize which i am certain the jury for the awards gives a great deal of attention for those kind of remarks
