It's actually a really cool idea for a site, but unfortunately there will always be the people out there who like to manipulate others to get what they want, regardless. It's unfortunate and really quite pathetic that they seem themselves as a higher controlling/manipulative intelligence, yet at the same time suckle the intellectual teat of another.
Recently I have decided to fill these people's mind's with disinformation in hopes of them realizing what truly lazy, hopeless beings they are for attempting to be underhanded, yet at the same time absolute morons in reality.
As someone mentioned above "It's a place where arrogant snobs go to make themselves feel superior". Hate to break it to you dude, but that's all relative, and you pointing out his flaws makes you the perpetrator in this situation because suddenly YOU are the hero, and guess what, I did the same damn thing, so now am I the hero, or do I give a damn about being self righteous? Nope, truth is I am probably worse by calling you out... well, I don't really care.
As for myself, if I need direct help from an individual I directly ask them for help rather than disguising my need as a question. Asking a question when you really need "help" is something that I find pathetic and very indirect. We unfortunately live in a world where mean people take advantage of nice people who like to learn things. Fortunately this is changing as the "nice" people are seeing what their knowledge is being used for.
It's the information age, and along with it comes power to choose who we give our knowledge to. It may seem inconsequential to you at the time, but consider the fact that the difference between a building blowing up and people living is one word, being the color of the wire to cut on a bomb. Information is power, and I for one am sick of teaching a bunch of information abusing primates. Is it elitist of me? Nope. You are nothing more than a yelling monkey with a rock harassing others until the day you start doing things for yourself. Wake up people.

It sure seems that way sometimes.
If I don't know the answer I do a Internet search and usually come up with it within a minute or two.
I do wonder why they can't do the same thing.

yeah. it's not supposed to be... but a lot of people do that here. it is supposed to be a place where people find answers to odd questions in every day life that they can't find on their own. it helps if you just don't answer those questions. the more people do this, the fewer answers they will get, and perhaps they will end up turning to their alternative-- READING THE TEXT BOOK!!!!
don't worry, i got really pissed one day and posted the same question!

Could be, but it's also the site where arrogant snobs go so they can make themselves feel superior. Recognize yourself there?
