Yes. It is competitive in competitions. You have to be able to memorize steps and lyrics. You have to be able to dance, YELL (Lol), and have gymnastics experience to be a good cheerleader. It is tough, though many think it isn't. There is a lot of hard work and sweat that goes into it, and it is not just a bunch of preppy girls sleeping with the football coach. And you have to have brains. I am majoring in Neuroscience and Theatre.

OF COURSE!!! It's probaly the sport you have to do the most work in. Most cheerleaders train/practice 3 or more days a week. You have to run, do sit-ups, and sometimes lift weights-just like any other sport. You also have to practice tumbling all the time and it's possible pull a muscle or break a bone, you have to do jumps till you can't walk, you have to practice dances till you're sore, you have to do motions till you're sore, you have to yell till you're voice is gone, you have to hold other cheerleader up in the air with only your and another cheerleaders hand, and you have to cheer on you're team no matter what. Cheerleading is definatley a sport!!!

yes, you bet!!! Not only that, I think cheer leading is the most famous and attractive one. All sports looks fuzzy without cheerleaders. I play sports, when there are cheer leaders, I jump 5 times faster!
